We keep using Google products and services every day from its search engine to You Tube, Gmail, Android and many more so much so that the World Wide Web would be incomplete if there was no Google. In what was the result of a misspelling (the Company was supposed to be called Googol), the word has become a prominent verb as we google our way into the online world.
“Google’s transcendent and seemingly human qualities give it special appeal to an amazingly wide range of computer users, from experts to novices, who trust the brand that has become an extension of their brains,” said authors of the Book The Google Story David Vise and Mark Malseed.
Google functions on very basic principals focusing entirely on end users; No wonder people can innately relate to the Company’s products. The Founders have stuck to their thought: DON’T BE EVIL, till date refusing to advertise its products to anyone and everyone.
To present a glimpse on the Company’s evolution, Google’s journey actually began in 1995 when Midwest-born Larry Page met Moscow-born Sergey Brin at Stanford. In 1998 both of them dropped out of graduate school to, “change the world” (in their own words) and giving everyone access to a search engine by organizing every bit of information on the Web for free.
Google’s vision is still work in progress as the Company continues to create new products, introduce innovative services, add zillions of information, videos and more to its searchable database.
Reading and knowing about the Google’s evolution and Google Guys is as exciting as the Company’s innovations. You may get umpteen amount of information about the Company on the web and how it all began but Online PhD team’s very cool and interactive Infographic ”When Larry Met Sergey” gives an enjoyable look into the tech giant’s evolution and achievements up until 2011.
