Wouldn’t it be nice if you could control everything by just 'Speaking'? Speech recognition. (Not to be confused with voice recognition.) may just be the answer. The Technology converts spoken words to text, allowing for our modern day technologies to be more useful in our everyday lives.

Automatic speech recognition systems today find widespread application in tasks that require a human-machine interface, such as automatic call processing in the telephone network and query-based information systems that do things like provide updated travel information, stock price quotations, weather reports, etc.

Today speech technologies are commercially available for a limited but interesting range of tasks. However the technology can sometimes act funny. You call a Customer service and your words may have been misinterpreted:  “I want to pay my bill” – *you said you want to cancel your service* … wtf? NO! *okay one moment…. your service has been canceled*
