LivingSocial has won the hearts of millions of customers by offering 50% off a $10 Starbucks virtual gift card. It is the best-selling daily deal of all time, according to a LivingSocial spokesperson, which cited a top-10 chart released by daily deals aggregator Yipit.

The offer, which ran Wednesday, was sold out by 11 p.m. ET that evening. One and half million gift cards were sold in total. Sure many others would’ve liked to enjoy that offer. It was the second time Starbucks had offered a gift card discount through a daily deals site since April.

According to Yipit, LivingSocial’s offer for 50% off a $20 Amazon gift card in January 2011 was the previous record holder by revenue, with 1.16 million sold. The startup had similar success with discounts on Whole Foods groceries and Fandango movie tickets. According to Yipit, Groupon‘s best deal was offered in June 2011, when the company offered $10 off a $20 purchase at Old Navy.

The results suggest the popularity of Starbucks and Amazon as brands among the customers.

LivingSocial remains a privately held company while Groupon went public in November 2011.
