Hit your iPhone Snooze and you donate!

Your few extra minutes of Sleep in morning when you shut off your iPhone alarm may turn out be fruitful.

A new iOS app is providing an opportunity to turn those precious minutes to donate to charity.

Snooze is an alarm clock app for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad that pledges $0.25 of your own money to charity every time your tired body hits the snooze button.

Interestingly, it’s not a forced donation; the app asks you if you would like to donate your snooze hits to the non-profit of your choice. So Users set a desired charity and the app will calculate how many times you hit snooze. There will be two opportunities every month to donate.

The app was built by LetGive, a company that combines mobile technology with charitable giving. You can choose from a number of charities to donate to from LetGive's platform, including City Harvest, Music for Tomorrow and Piper Theater Productions.

While the app is unlikely to raise huge sums of money, it’s a harmless way of doing good and (hopefully) hauling your body to work on time. At the very least, you can tell your boss you were late to work because you were busy involved in philanthropic activity.
