Rovio has always made it a point to celebrate all the major festivals along with its viewers by introducing updated versions of the game for each festival. This time the Angry Birds developer has decided to release Chinese New Year-themed adventure for Angry Birds Seasons to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

15 new festive levels have been introduced featuring exploding fireworks and lanterns, a transformation Mighty Eagle into the Mighty Dragon, Chinese knots and red envelopes. This update is available for free in the Year of the Dragon episode.

“As Rovio’s launch partner, we are giving our full support to the Year of the Dragon update. This Year of the Dragon update has a lot of Chinese culture involved and Chinese people just love it. Rovio is our long-term strategic partner, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with them,” said Lili Tan, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Internet Base.

The update was launched after Rovio received success with its earlier Angry Birds Moon Festival seasons application.

If you already have Angry Birds Seasons installed on your mobile device, it can be updated to get the Chinese New Year add-on.
