It’s official. The Kinect is a hit, having sold over 1 million units in its first 10 days, but the majority of titles out thus far have not been favorable to hardcore gamers. Yes, some of the moves are cool, but for those who have played such games all their life, it’s still a bit amateurish. But that could be soon changing if a recent statement from IGN is accurate.
According to a source, Microsoft is setting up to introduce several action titles for the Kinect at the upcoming Spike TV Video Game Awards (VGA), to be held on December 11.
Are they bucking under the popular demand? Who cares as long as the games are added! If the gossip is correct, headlining the list of novel titles will be a Gears of War title. It is unidentified whether that will mean that a Gears of War game will be reworked to include Kinect compatibility, or if a new title specific to the Kinect is in the works from developer Epic.
