Yahoo Japan: Bings with Google
Google and Yahoo

Yahoo Japan has signed a deal to use Google's search engine instead of using Microsoft's Bing, as words flew. Daniel Alegre, vice president of Google's Asia Pacific and Japan operations, said Yahoo Japan will use Google search results and Google's technology for supplying the accompanying search ads. With such partnerships, revenue from the search ads is shared between the Web site, that is Yahoo Japan and the company that supplies the ads which is Google.

The deal comes as a blow to Microsoft, for this company with its launch of the website last year has been trying hard to match up to the standards of Google, the Internet Search giant. The company has also been working to match the utility of Google's much famed, popular and market leading search service.

Yahoo plugged in Microsoft's Bing search engine to supply search results, but evidently the case didn’t remain the same with one of the leading market in the Asia pacific region. Microsoft couldn't convince Yahoo Japan to follow suit in that prime market.

Reason for Yahoo Japan not following the suit of choosing Microsoft’s search engine is also attributed to the fact that though Yahoo is one of the investors in Yahoo Japan, a bigger share of the company lies with Softbank, so Yahoo Japan's decisions had been different from that of Yahoo in the United states.
