You make yourself a cup of hot Coffee or hot chocolate, keep it at your desk, get busy with your work on your Smartphone, Laptop and forget that your beverage is still lying there, turned all cold. Having to reheat your hot beverage after it turns cold is not only inconvenient, but it’s also not very energy efficient.
Designer Ryan Jongwoo Choi found a solution to this problem and doesn’t want you to get up again from your place to heat the beverage. He created the Burning Cup that keeps your coffee or hot chocolate warm from the first to last sip without using any electricity.
The mug contains the two buttons on the side. As your cup cools down you can press those buttons to warm up the mug again.

There’s a bit of Science involved in here. The Cup contains solution of sodium acetate, which is in solid form when the cup is cold and a liquid form when it is heated. As the cup cools down, users can press the two buttons on the mug to activate the sodium acetate to warm up the cup again.
Sodium acetate is a salt made up of acetic acid and natrium. The solution is also used in heat packs to treat temporary pains and aches.
