Security software company McAfee upgrades its product line, debuting a new offering with more convenience, better performance

McAfee announced its upgrading and enhancing its 2010 consumer product line, adding a new interface on top of higher performance for its 2010 offering. McAfee, the world's largest dedicated security technology company, has been recognized with numerous industry honors for product performance since its 2009 release. The 2010 product line looks to continue McAfee’s dominance within the industry.
The upgrades for McAfee’s 2010 product line include expanded threat protection, enhanced performance and a new easy to use interface. In the new offering, McAfee has enhanced its web protection to alert and block dangerous downloads and web pages before a user accesses them. Furthermore, its virus scans are now 325 percent faster.
"Every feature of this release is best-of-breed. The new enhancements for this 2010 Q1 release offer consumers what they want: strong and unobtrusive protection with market-leading performance. With McAfee, consumers are protected by the same intelligence and technology used to defend governments and Fortune 500 companies around the world," stated Javed Hasan, vice president of product management for the McAfee consumer product group.
In addition to the above, the 2010 upgrades include
- URL reputation ratings, which alert consumers about individual Web pages and IP addresses that may have been recently compromised.
- Fast product installation
- Detailed reporting about key recent events, for instance the number of threats blocked, and shows immediate information about recent scans and activity
